Biomass Energy used to heat Cookstown Leisure Centre
Cookstown District Council was the first council in Northern Ireland to have an operational biomass heating system. This was installed in the town’s leisure centre in 2007 and has worked efficiently and reliably since that time, using wood chip biomass as the main heating fuel.
Keenaghan Mushrooms is located just outside Moy, County Armagh and is run by Frank Donnelly. It is currently a Focus Farm and Frank has been pleased to communicate his experience very openly to the many groups visiting the farm. In 2007, a 250kWh Biomass Boiler was installed to heat the mushroom houses at the farm.
