BENI collaborates on BioTech 2016

The Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST) at South West College, in association with Biomass Energy Northern Ireland (BENI) held their BioTech 2016 event on Friday 21st October 2016 in CREST, Enniskillen.

BENI chairman John Martin and member Stewart Cameron joined a number of speakers who gave their take on current issues and the progress being made in the biomass sector.

BENI members were very active in the event. Stewart Cameron (Glendale Tree services) gave a live chipping demonstration with his industrial chipper and Hegan Farms provided the logs to be chipped.

John Martin, BENI Chairman, said, “Biomass Energy NI were pleased to be involved in the event” and Aaron Black, Research Lecturer, commented, “The event highlighted the continued interest by companies in biomass research, and development of new ideas to grow the industry and create employment despite the current financial challenges and lack of government focus on renewables”.
